So here’s why your outfits matter during your shoot.
I get it. It can be super difficult to pick out what you’re gonna wear for photos. I put together this lil guide so that you can look amazing and feel confident and also be super comfy in whatever you wear, all while keeping the focus on you and not your clothes.
I’m gonna be honest here. I’m not really a fashion influencer. I wear thrifted vintage jeans and oversized men’s tees/sweaters 24/7. I also wear socks with my sandals. Basically, you’ll likely have a much more fashionable style than me hahaha. This whole guide is based on things that I’ve learned over years of shooting, and these are by no means ‘rules’. These are just a few guidelines that I’ve found to work best for shoots!
The ultimate goal here is that you look like yourself in your pictures. Regardless of what you wear, your photos are gonna rock. The point is that your outfits should compliment you and your locations, and not take away from the focus of the shoot: you + all the things that make you unique. The most important thing here is that you look and feel like you. Instead of going out and buying a whole new wardrobe for our shoot, I recommend going through your closet and finding some things that you totally love and you feel natural in. Whether that’s an old pair of vans and some ripped jeans or a flowy dress with heels, if it feels like you then go for it! I completely understand the urge to maybe dress nicer than usual, but your photos are about what you’re like right now in this moment in time. If you never wear dresses or heels then why start now? You’ll feel 100% more comfortable in whatever clothes you normally wear. Trust me.
